Kunal Bansal’s Encouragement Fuels Young Talent at KOMPTE Badminton Tournament

A Tournament Beyond Competition

The KOMPTE Badminton Tournament 2025, held on April 26–27 at the Sports Complex in Sector 38 West, Chandigarh, brought together over 400 young athletes for a spirited two-day showcase of skill, resilience, and sportsmanship. But beyond the energy of the matches, it was the support from inspiring figures like Kunal Bansal, Director of GMI Infra, that truly elevated the tournament’s impact.

Concept and Leadership Behind KOMPTE

The tournament was conceptualized and led by Mr. Karan Bhardwaj, Founder of KOMPTE, with a clear mission: to create a vibrant platform for emerging badminton players and encourage grassroots participation in sports. His vision was strongly supported by notable Chief Guests including Mr. Kunal Bansal and Mr. Mohit Bansal, Co-Founders of GMI Infra, as well as respected figures like Mr. S.S. Channi (Ex-Home Secretary) and Mr. P.K.S. Bhardwaj (State Convener, BJP Intellectual Cell).

Kunal Bansal’s Message to the Youth

Speaking to the young participants, Kunal Bansal highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping the future. “We aren’t just building structures at GMI Infra — we’re building communities. Supporting platforms like KOMPTE means encouraging ambition, focus, and resilience among our youth,” he remarked.

His presence, along with that of other dignitaries, added a motivational spark for the participants. The duo also took part in the award ceremony, felicitating winners across all age groups and divisions.

Star Performers of the Tournament

Several young athletes delivered remarkable performances across categories:

  • Saksham: Winner in Under-19 Boys' Singles and Open Men's Doubles

  • Pranav: Winner in Under-19 Boys’ Doubles and Open Men’s Doubles

  • Yatharth: Winner in Under-17 and Under-15 Boys' Singles

The audience was treated to impressive gameplay across divisions — from under-9 categories to 40+ age groups — showcasing the region’s rising sports potential.
